Walk the full 18 holes in under three hours. Take a buggy and it's significantly less. Tee off at 6:30 on a summer morning and you're showered and home before 9am. Or finish work at six, head straight to the first tee, and you're done well before sunset.

Just don't mistake quick for easy
At 6,376 yards it doesn't look threatening on paper. But the slope rating of 123, ten points above the national standard, tells the real story. This is a course that rewards strategy, punishes assumption, and gets harder the less you think.
The national standard is 113. At 123, The Hertsmere plays measurably harder for bogey golfers than the yardage suggests. Every extra stroke index point is a hole that has tripped someone up before you.
Donald Steel built courses to reward precision, not distance. Tree-lined corridors, doglegs with ponds at the corner, and a back nine that ranges from 141 to 425 yards — every hole asks a different question. Driver isn't always the answer.
Back-to-back par 3s over water, followed two holes later by a 90-degree dogleg with a pond at the corner. It's the most demanding sequence on the course, and the one most people are still thinking about on the drive home.
